Review of Ninja Assassin (2009) by Gere H — 14 Jan 2017
When I saw this at the theatre it was way to dark for most of the fight scenes and I would have only given it three stars. Now I have it on blu ray with a hi def TV and it is one of my favorite ninja movies.
The action and fight scenes are intense. I love the parkour elements. The acting is not bad. The story is pretty good. Seeing Sho Kosugi, a ninja legend from the 80s really makes it an awesome movie to me.
Plus on blu ray there is some great extra content that after seeing what went into this movie and what Rain put himself through to make this move have given me a deeper respect for it. The blood maybe a little overly excessive, but then again I never seen anyone actually hacked away like they are in this movie.
For all I know it maybe the right amount of blood and gore. Definitely not something you want to watch with the kids.
