Review of Nope (2022) by Jgnyc — 24 Jul 2022

Not at the masterpiece level of Get Out, but a great movie and one of the best I've seen this year. The ominous atmosphere and use of sound and unique setting kept me at the edge of my seat from beginning to end.

I loved the characters' backstories and I thought the acting was great. I was also struck by the fact that the human reactions and choices were the most realistic I've seen in a horror/alien movie in a long time, maybe ever.

We had so much to talk about afterward as we were connecting the dots and thinking about it. It's not much for jump scares or gore, so if that's what you're looking for you may be disappointed. But my friends and I loved it.
