Review of Old Henry (2021) by Claytaylor21 — 29 Dec 2021
In a year that has featured a plethora of westerns, Old Henry is another decent addition to the genre. The best part of the film is easily the third act which features multiple twists and plenty of action.
Unfortunately, this couldn't completely make for the pacing issues in the first two acts, which are extremely slow. The main emotional tentpole of the story should be between Henry and his son, but this fell flat for me because of some bad acting from the boy cast as the son.
This film is still worth a view because of its dynamite third act and a great performance in the titular role from Tim Blake Nelson, but it certainly isn't a masterpiece by any means.
