This movie is a very subversive and multi-layered masterpiece from Tarantino whose cinephile attributes are on full display here. I will write a more comprehensive review later. It would be a cinematic crime if this film were not a top Oscar contender.
It deserves nominations across the board. Leo's angsty but darkly comedic depiction of Rick Dalton is probably going to rank among his best performances. The entire ensemble is amazing but Pitt's effortless & cool portrayal of Cliff Booth is a stand out along with his dog Brandy.
This film has everything I want in a film about Hollywood's golden age.
