Review of Once Upon a Time in the Midlands (2002) by Karen W — 24 Oct 2008
One of the early offerings from mr meadows, although entertaining and funny, I found it slow in places and had a bit of a half hearted ending although it must be said a realistic one. Rhys Ifans and Robert Carlyle put in good performances as the battling males and indeed the rest of the cast do not put a foot wrong.
A good and enjoyable film and worth a watch, if not just to see the early filmic tinkerings that are blossoming for Shane Meadows at the moment.
