Review of One More Time with Feeling (2016) by Private U — 10 Sep 2016
One of the most difficult to review films I have seen for a long time. At it's core this is a film about grief, and how an artist processes and expresses the pain that comes with that. From the overwhelming sorrow of the day-to-day waves of despair to the joy that comes from small moments of happiness, this is a intimate and irritating film.
Offering rare glimpses into the machinations of the songwriting and recording process, the deep friendship and intimacy between Cave and Ellis, and the way in which parents try to cope with the death of a child.
Beautifully shot and full of the attraction and repulsion of Cave.
