Review of Orgazmo (1998) by Stuart F — 22 Jun 2014
A common problem that plagues comedies is to use dramas as a benchmark for what is deemed "good". Despite the low budget, Orgazmo largely satisfies its target demo through much of the risqué silliness that launched Trey Parker and Matt Stone to acclaim.
Like a home movie where each person tries to crack up the other, Orgazmo delivers not because of some prolific plot, "tour de force" acting, or groundbreaking cinematography but because it's a casual comedy that doesn't take itself too seriously and pushes the boundaries.
If you're using Citizen Cane or The Godfather to compare this with then let loose, try to enjoy yourself, and take this for what it is.
