Review of Outlaw King (2018) by Leo K — 04 Dec 2018
The history here is interesting, and I commend the attempt at making a 'braveheart'-esque fight against the superior oppressive powers.
Unfortunately, there are just too much historical names being thrown at the viewer, and the oppressed are being painted as the all-good, all-noble, all-saintly, civilized good guys, which just makes this a good vs evil type of movie, rather than humanistic history (which it tries to be, by being historically accurate).
The horses being stabbed (computer generated of course), was an interesting touch at realism, since this is rarely shown in movies.
I DID enjoy the rabidly crazy dude who was a complete beast. This is how warriors, and humans actually behave in war... blood lust and thirsty for destruction and adrenaline.
Nonetheless, interesting, but just too black and white historically.
