Review of Pack Up Your Troubles (1932) by Simon T — 22 Dec 2018
It may not be the funniest Laurel & Hardy but this early feature is still delightful and at times even quite moving. The boys spend the bulk of the movie trying vainly to locate a toddler's grandfather (helpfully called Smith).
One of the best sequences is semi-improvised - Stan fighting sleep as their ward tells him the story of Goldilocks. The cast is studded with cameos by L&H regulars like Billy Gilbert, James Finlayson and Charles Middleton.
Even moderate Laurel & Hardy is hugely entertaining.
