Review of Pandorum (2009) by Allan L — 16 Apr 2011
Well written but somewhat clunky sci-fi film with plenty of twists and turns that I didn't see coming. The film does tend to suffer from overproduction, and just overall feels a bit too polished and clean for its own good; maybe if they had worked with a smaller budget, and cut out the slower bits, and maybe not shown the monsters as much. Also, Dennis Quaid is awful in this, just going through the motions without bothering to put anything behind it.
Still, it's entertaining, and the story is interesting, and man, all those twists. It certainly has its moments. I liked the various "creation" and Adam and Eve metaphors and stuff; it's just a good overall concept, suspenseful and creative. Pure science fiction. It could have been much worse, in other words. Worth watching.
