Review of Pather Panchali (1955) by Matt M — 04 Oct 2011
This film's greatest achievement is its successful portrayal of the tragedy of everyday life through a child's eyes, still dreamy, naive and thoughtless. As a result, the events that we witness in the film become even more important after the film ends, much like we ourselves very often only realise the importance of some events and the impact they had on our lives a long time after they actually happen.
