Review of Paths of Glory (1957) by Greg R — 30 Jul 2017
One of my favorite movies. This is the true story of how those in power took advantage of it and put three innocent soldiers on the stand for cowardice, during World War I. This might be my favorite of Kubrick's earlier films.
Combining intense battle scenes, exquisite cinematography, and realism, Paths of Glory is a humane anti-war movie with powerful performances and one of the most effective, knock-out endings I have ever seen.
