Review of Paths of Glory (1957) by Lasse C — 27 Dec 2008
Very good early work from Kubrick, who keeps this from being a typical anti-war movie or court room drama and squeezes tons of emotion out of each scene. Douglas and the rest of the cast were very good and avoided hamming it up in some key scenes that most actors would have taken over the top.
I would give this movie more stars, but it was a little on the short side and could have been developed a little more.
