A waste of time remake that doesn't understand the charm or intent of the source material. And when you don't understand the source material you make something that is uniquely awful in that they create an original take on a beloved classic, bending it and twisting it with a tired and worn out narrative that destroys any originality that the writers thought they were clever enough to do.
Shear Hubris.
