Review of Places in the Heart (1984) by Simon D — 11 Oct 2010
Sally Field? Check. Ed Harris? Check. John Malkovich? Check. Danny Glover? Check. I'm usually not one for for dramatic, heartwarming, inspirational stories about people with an unfair burden. This movie changed the way I look at that genre though.
Two scenes really stood out: the tornado scene and the KKK scene. I rarely get too emotionally involved in what I'm watching, but this film is so powerful, it's hard not to.
