This movie is notable for Clint Eastwood first directorial effort, and also him cast against his "tough-guy" movie stereotype. It works for the most part, but I found it rather predictable once you figure out where the story is going, and not as thrilling as it tries to be.
Perhaps back in the pre-"Fatal Attraction" days it was ground breaking, but nowadays we've seen so many movies on similar subject, that it's become almost a cliche.
