A unique experience most fans will appreciate for the subtle and not so subtle references to the past, while experiencing a story loosely based on events happening during the first few episodes of the overall franchise.
I found it mostly rewarding, if on the fence briefly for how drastically different it is. But at its heart, it remains the same - the story of Ash and Pikachu, and that's never been more powerful.
