Pompeii was not the type of movie I expected it to be. I mean the city is heading towards being destroyed and yet as humans we work together to try to save one another but in this movie everyone was for himself except for the main characters.
If I wanted a gladiator movie I would have chosen Gladiator, not with Kiefer Sutherland portraying a Roman General/Senator. I would watch it for the special cgi effects other than that it isn't worth your time.
