Review of Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping (2016) by Matt A — 30 Jul 2017
If you know of The Lonely Island, then you pretty much know the type of humour you're getting. Its a half decent attempt to poke fun at the lifestyles of popstars in general and sometimes makes you laugh out loud, but it does wear thin quite quickly and becomes a bit tedious.
There are cameos aplenty but they all don't really deliver a believable enough performance, we know its all tongue in cheek but there is something about it that doesn't really gel well.... The first 45 minutes are really funny but after that the joke wears thin.
.. Could've been made into an 80 minute film, including the credits, but they've padded it out with more unnecessary scenes and cameos... Couldve been a classic.
