Review of Postman (1995) by Shane M — 05 Nov 2013
Not the greatest post apocalyptic movie, but not the worst either.
The story could have been tightened up, what took them nearly three hours to do should not have even taken two and a half hours.
The idea of a con man accidentally restarting society (or has he?) is actually very inspired. There are even a few points in the film that I thought the acting was great, but most of the time I thought it was just average. There are also a few points that the film looks like it is trying too hard, especially when it is showing us how evil the villain is supposed to be.
It is not as bad as the critics will have you believe, but you can do better.
