Review of Precious (2009) by Michael H — 16 Dec 2011
Started off slow and a little rough, but really turned out to be a solid film. I've said it before, but any film that can shut off my brain and get me immersed in the story is a quality movie, and Precious definitely accomplishes this.
Mo'Nique was simply fabulous, and well deserving of her best Supporting Actress Oscar, but really the acting was good across the board, if a bit individualistic.
A touching movie, a thought-provoking movie, a depressing movie, but because of this, not in spite of this, well worth a watch.
