I was really surprised this was as entertaining as it was. Of course the story is stupid. Yes they defy physics and logic. Yes there are a bunch of cardboard cutout characters, include Johnson's character. Here are the keys to my military helicopter? Hello? McFly?
But the story is beyond fast pace, and keeps you glued to the screen. And I felt a surprising amount of empathy for the CGI gorilla. And the Rock gets to fire his giant gun. Over and over.
