Really the ending is just hollywood exploiting 9/11 as some sort of plot device. It was completely unnecessary as any other cause of death would same the same purpose without being exploitative. I would be shocked if the people involved had any connection to NYC on 9/11.
This was distasteful and the film belongs in the garbage heap as a result.
