Review of Renfield (2023) by Dubeau — 14 May 2023

Renfield was an average movie. The story had some merits but it was poorly written. The problem is that, it's in parts funny, satirical or serious. And all those aren't really working well in this movie.

I did like the old version of Dracula, but all the rest wasn't that engaging. The rhythm wasn't great, the jokes fall flat a lot, the action was over the top. The acting was fine by me but the story didn't exploited the talent of the actors.

I give it 52%. I had to watch it in two parts because I was bored in the middle. What we do in the shadows did a better job in terms of satirical comedy, but this film is in too many niches.
