In a film about Dracula, his assistant and world domination, Nicholas Cage strikes back. It sounds good at first but after watching it, it's a bit of a letdown.

Nicholas Cage is a great actor as Dracula but the film focuses on the wrong aspects. I and possibly many others would have liked it to focus on Dracula during his most famous times, and not in the modern world.

You took a famous character and sidelined him in the plot, that's a difficult job to accomplish especially when the actual main character of the story isn't really interesting.

I mean I like that it focuses on the assistant but it wasn't executed as well, due to the period it is set in, his motive, and the overall supporting cast.

Is this a bad movie, Not necessarily, the action and Gore scenes are ridiculously funny and entertaining.

The plot and story are plausible, and the characters are ok, not amazing.

RATINGS:

VFX and Effects: 8/10, Not bad, enjoyable to see practicals in the works.

Story and Plot: 5/10, The beginning is good, the rest is just ugh.

Characters: 6/10, It's Nicholas Cage as Dracula, a free point is given.

Overall, 6/10, it's enjoyable, but not really something you need to go out and see. It took me 2 sessions to finish because there is kind of a boring area somewhere near the middle of the film, but it picks up. It would have been great to focus on Dracula and Renfield in older times instead of modern times.
