Review of Retribution (2023) by Jluis_001 — 27 Aug 2023
In Retribution Liam Neeson does not get out of the car to exhibit physical prowess impossible to believe for a septuagenarian, but its director does pretend that he sustains without much to do this lame exercise of tension and suspense that pretends to create thrills and exhibit an imaginary quality that simply cannot conjure. I'd like to emphasize one point unequivocally: this film possesses the same throwaway quality as the numerous movies that are release direct-to-video or VOD featuring Nicolas Cage, John Travolta, and Bruce Willis. The only reason it was released in theaters is because clearly Liam Neeson still has the audience's approval at the box office and the producers know it.
That's how devoid of imagination, caliber and merit this film really is. Referring to it as generic would be a generous description.
