The movie has everything going for it but ultimately I think it was the story and the weak ending that made it not be the film that it could have been. The films looks great and Ang Lee does a good job.
However the story is more of many events put together that seem to not create a whole purpose. The marketing was cut because of the controversy surrounding Jeffery Wright's character according to Wikipedia.
The film could have been more widely known but it is not mentioned at all. The ending was anti climatic in that it was different than what you would expect especially in a hollywood movie and a movie that had much violence before the confrontation.
Overall, the movie was great to look at and had some good moments especially the action scenes. The many actors in the movie you will recognize and Jewel does not sing in the movie though it is hinted at once.
There was a music video but probably did not see wide release either.
