Review of Ripley's Game (2002) by Jeff M — 18 Jun 2012
As follow-up's tend to go, this above average, low-key, and under-the-radar sequel to the hugely popular 1999 screen adaptation of 'The Talented Mr. Ripley' is a keeper. Malkovich adds heft to an otherwise light-weight story, and assumes the role previously occupied by Matt Damon with ease and charisma; Scott is a worthy antagonist to Malkovich's aging con man Ripley; Cavani directs a smart screenplay with authority: The end product being a film that entertains, and sits well in the dvd collection as a stand-alone spy thriller along side its predecessor: the ultimate endorsement.
