Review of Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) by Marko K — 30 Sep 2018
And just when man thinks that WETA can't do better, they do something extraordinary. For years WETA made some of the most amazing visuals in many movies....their artists won numerous Oscars and other awards. They gave us magic world of Middle-earth and Gollum.....they gave life to King Kong....they created amazing heaven in "Lovely Bones"...they showed us breathtaking landscapes of Pandora and gorgeous Na'vi.....and now they gave us the Apes revolution. It is a revolution, WETA pushed boundaries once more and perfected MoCap. For the first time MoCap was used on real locations and not in green studio. Andy Serkis once more proved that he really is a master of MoCap. His Caesar is almost alive and so emotional character.
Movie as itself has many flaws......not so developed story and little clumsy direction.....but it's all forgettable when you watch the battle on Golden gate bridge.
Actors were ok.......James Franco did not left big impact on me....Frieda and Cox were a bit unused.....and Lithgow was great as always.....
