Relax Francis! Really. Anyone looking for deep and edgy is going to be disappointed. But if you pay attention to the subtleties, absorb the general chaos and hopelessness, and just go with it, I think you will enjoy the story, the characters, and definitely the soundtrack.
I did. And frankly, I have enough to be cynical about what with real life going on. I was not in the mood for more of that. I thought the movie was refreshing and enjoyable. BTW - within the first 15 minutes of the film, it is explained to Bill Murray's character that the Kasbah is not in Afghanistan.
Mind the subtleties.
