Review of RocknRolla (2008) by Boris V — 03 Apr 2010
I definitely like Guy Ritchie, but he has to start making a new kind of movie. In RocknRolla he uses the same old tricks he always uses: a quick plot, lots of characters, an item that everybody wants to have.
Normally this can still work out well, but this movie lacks the humour of Snatch and the greatness of the plot of Lock Stock. It is just a repetition of what we have already seen but then worse. In this movie the complicated plot just seems forced instead of naturally.
One scene - I'm talking about the one in which there are two Russians who just can't seem to die - shows that Guy Ritchie hasn't lost it and so I'm looking forward for RocknRolla 2.;.
