Definitely one of the best films in the franchise. Better than TFA and 10x better than that failure TLJ. It had the feel of a true SW film. This director should do the rest of the SW films. Was it perfect? No, but its probably the best since Empire.
Its all business. No campy muppets or corny jokes. Just heros on a vital mission who sacrifice themselves for the greater good. No happy, miracle ending where the good guys live and the bad guys die. It ends on a bit of a down note like Empire did, though no dramatic cliffhanger as we all know what "is coming" next.
I dug seeing Grand Moff and felt they did an amazing job. I also liked how they tied into Ep IV at the end with Leia. 100x better than her campy spacewalk in TLJ.
