Review of Run Lola Run (1998) by Ryan S — 09 Oct 2009
Relying solely on one event played over multiple times; Run Lola Run gets its stride going in the first few frames and never lets up. If you think seeing the same scenes played out with different variations and character choices seems boring, you would be dead wrong.
Each of the three scenarios, are engaging and after you see where the movie is taking you each time it starts over, the anticipation to see what takes place next is exhilarating. Truly a great performance by Franka Potente as the screamingly distressed Lola, her red hair flying by as she desperately searches for the cash that will save her boyfriend.
The now famous cinematography is great, showcasing different locations in and around Berlin. The editing is top notch as well. It's been ten years since this gem came and here's to hoping it never gets an American remake.
