Review of Sandy Wexler (2017) by Tom R — 09 Nov 2018
Anyone who would give this film a low rating doesn't understand the value or the beauty of New York Jewish comedy at its' finest. I guess that includes much of the country it appears, which is sad.
This film was brilliant in capturing the realistic and authentic Jewish comedic timing, quirkiness, and passive aggressiveness rarely seen except in films by Woody Allen or Mel Brooks. All the subtle yet powerful silliness was contagious and hilarious, yet highlighted a sad undertone of a man who needed to please others so deeply, which gave it surprising depth.
Sandler is a master and an artistic genius, who brings laughter and good feelings to us all. I loved the two hours!!
