Review of Sandy Wexler (2017) by Chris H — 14 Jan 2018
I am so very happy that Adam Sandler is able to do as he pleases on Netflix. His movies aren't for the critics - they are for fans of his films and the supporting actors who genuinely enjoy being a part of his entourage. And for what it's worth - his entourage in this movie is massive. Like each movie, Sandler creates a fish out of water character who triumphs against odds. This one is a bit different in that his character SHOULDN'T really triumph -- and doesn't have an amazing long drive or rage induced football skills. No, this one's quite different -- a character whose larger than life skill is loyalty.
I hate to sound like the reviewers for every high school newspaper... but if you like Adam Sandler movies, you will like Sandy Wexler. And I'll add - if you don't like Adam Sandler movies, you'll hate it. I thoroughly enjoyed it. A for effort on this one.
