Review of Saving Face (2004) by Chris S — 01 Jul 2008
This is a hilarious laugh-out-loud comedy with some witty dialogue and lovable characters. It is not only about the daughter's sexuality but also about her unmarried mother's pregnancy that would ruin the grandfather's reputation and self-image.
It is about reputations, taboos, and social expectations especially in a conservative community. There are a couple of commonly used filmic situations in the film but there are no cliched moments.
