An unnecesary, yet good enough, sequel, Saw IV can't reach the same level of the original trilogy mostly because of its repetitive plot points and an absurd reliance on gore rather than suspense. Still, it provides and entertaining time, and suggests that, for better or worse, the franchise still has a future ahead.
