Review of Scars of Dracula (1970) by Marco C — 16 Jul 2013
A very solid Hammer Dracula film with a towering performance from Christopher Lee who is given more dialogue & scenes and relishes each one. Resurrected The Count continues where he left off, to the anger of the villagers who thought they were rid of him.
This series of events leads to a young man seeking refuge at the castle only to disappear before being tracked down by his friends. Some genuinely gory & violent moments, tapered by those bats!, keep the story moving along sharply as does a great Patrick Troughton turn leading to a brutal climatic ending.
