Review of Scars of Dracula (1970) by Wk J — 25 Feb 2008
Campy Dracula trash and all the better for it. Far from Stokers original, Hammer finally let loose and there's a lot of traditional vampire fun to be had here. Giant killer vampire bats? You got them.
Dracula scaling walls? There you go. Christopher Lee gets far more to do and say than he did in the earlier movies and he's backed up by some good performances that perfectly suit this 70s entry. It's pacy, there's a lot of energy and it actually feels worthwhile.
One of the best of the Dracula's.
