Review of Scream Blacula Scream (1973) by Kevin S — 03 May 2008
You know... I have to admit something. Sure this was exploitation cinema at it's finest, but I actually noticed something quality about it. It wasn't as cheesy as it's prequel. In fact, while parts of it were gloriously camp-tastic, it attempts some social commentary (in a scene where Blacula fights two pimps), and the last scene actually was somewhat compelling.
Then he gets killed when Pam Grier puts a stake in a voodoo doll.
Either way, this is still an exploitation classic, and filled with that early 70's blaxploitation charm!
"The name... is BLACULA!!!".
