Review of Scream VI (2023) by Jakeyjake — 04 May 2023
With poor screenwriting and direction of horror set pieces that now feel immensely tired and predictable, Scream 6 now has officially reached a point where the franchise feels blatantly complacent. Whether it's introducing characters that are nothing more than carbon copies and bad caricatures of the beloved original cast members, or killing these beloved characters for manipulatively dramatic purposes instead of letting them just ride off into the sunset, happily.
Instead the movie refuses to let this franchise die, to the point where I am less compelled to see where the franchise goes from here, and more so just eagerly anticipating when the franchise is finally going to end.
To me it ended when Wes Craven passed.
