Review of Sense and Sensibility (1995) by Sean C — 08 Aug 2013
This is one of my most favorite movies ever. Every time I watch it I like it better. The actors do such a good job of making old-time British English sound like a natural way of speaking! But that of course is not the movies' strength; it is the subtly hilarious characters and the funny situations they occasionally find themselves in - although the movie is not a comedy; it's a drama.
My favorite character is the grouchy husband played by Hugh Laurie (the doctor from the TV series House). There are so many stellar actors in this movie, and their flawless performances (and the engaging characters they play) pull the viewer right into the story from the start.
This movie is probably liked by more women than men, but there are parts of it that even my husband likes.
