Approaches Spielberg in its simplicity, emotional depth of main character and and using "absolute implausibility" to disorient viewers so no telling what will happen next in this B+ genre romp.
A film MADE BY WOMEN about a STRONG WOMAN. If you don't care about this, see another movie. Because everything else is downplayed. "Moretz’s ferociously effective, expressive work" keeps the show from stalling.
Also Outstanding is WETA's creature work.
