Review of Sherlock Jr. (1924) by Chris W — 27 Sep 2016
What makes this film great is not its comedy. While it is a funny movie and, in fact, probably still Keaton's funniest, what makes this film a masterpiece is the amazing stunts and camera tricks Keaton uses throughout.
In a nutshell, this was one of the most fun movies I've ever seen. Keaton does things in Sherlock Jr. that will leave you in awe, wondering if this film is truly from 1924. Most of this is thanks to his apparant knack for tricking the eye.
However, some of this is also thanks for his amazing acrobatic skill. Keaton must have been some kind of athlete to perform some of the stunts he does here. It will knock your freaking socks off.
