Review of Shin Godzilla (2016) by Richard S — 03 Mar 2018
This movie focuses mostly on the humans, but does so in a satirical and engrossing way that makes it interesting. Basically, Godzilla arrives and the out of touch older politicians are completely clueless as to how to solve the problem, relying on outdated traditions and board meetings that don't achieve much.
It's up to the up and coming new blood to try new tactics to tackle the issue. As for Godzilla, when he does appear on screen, it's spectacular. I loved this new form of Godzilla, looking horrific, scarred, a true mutation.
The film is a glorious return for the King of the Monsters.
