A good idea with some fun moments but the execution was a little lacking. Not from the actors, they were ok, but the direction was kind of bland and actually detracted from the scares. I think Williamson did an ok job with the script I just think it needed someone with a stronger vision to film this.
It's too darkly lit in the wrong places, the camera shakes like crazy during any action, the visuals are extremely bland and uninspired and it just feels a little like someone took a competent script and then shot it with an iphone spontaneously on location.
Maybe that's not what actually happened but it's what it looks like. Such a shame as this could have been great, maybe with someone like Ti West or the Duplass Brothers behind the camera. Nice idea, forgettable end result.
