Review of Silence (2016) by Alexander E — 26 Jun 2017
This movie is emotionally wrenching (in a good way) going into this movie, I didn't know it literally wouldn't have any music I though it would just be a silent response of god when you verbally and physically try to reach out to him. The characters have everything stripped away from him and is motivated by blind faith to reach out to father Ferrara. The movie really hit me because I used to be a catholic and at a certain age I sorta questioned.
"Is there a purpose".
And I was wondering if I was wasting my time or if all this stuff God really wanted humans to do (worshipping him). The torture scenes really stuck with you and just show a mere glimpse of what it was like in those times with religious beliefs. Martin Scorsese has hit a homerun with this one.
