Again, Scorsese leaves too much in the final cut, and the result is somewhat of a trudge. Had some interesting ideas and statements about faith, and another great performance from Andrew Garfield, but I prefer his other 2016 film -- "Hacksaw Ridge" -- as a testament to the power of faith being tested in a foreign land.
