Review of Son of Rambow (2007) by David — 09 Apr 2009
This is an absolutely delightful film which shows that it does not matter when or where you grew up, childhood is childhood and the power of friendship during those years can most often times be the one thing that guides you through the rest of your life.
We all want to be liked, we all want to be witty and fun to be around and have good friends. Some of us had many growing up and some of us not so much. But we all have had that friend that our parents disapproved of and who was actually one of the best friends we've ever had.
Cause that friend wasn't that bad at all. Sometimes we were actually the one's who were bad to that friend. THAT's only the surface of this movie. There are touching moments and hilarious moments and many many moments that make us remember what it was like to be a child.
For some of us that might not be the best thing, but if you had even just one really good friend when you were young, you will fall in love that person again while watching this movie. I really do not know what to compare this to except maybe to say it's England's "Stand By Me.
" But I like this film much more than that. This could quite possibly be the best childhood-buddy movie I have ever seen. Go rent it now.
