Review of Son of Saul (2015) by Robin S — 06 Sep 2016
The power of imagination and subtlety in cinema, can do no better than the triumph that is Son of Saul. A moral and harrowing, fictional depiction, of the holocaust. The film constantly centers Saul in it's 4:3 frame, while the horrors happen around him.
And despite film being a visual medium, the film's greatest strength doesn't come what you do see but what you DON'T see.
